Whether you’re looking for a delicious cup of coffee, a nice place to work from, a spot to read your favourite book on a rainy day (those happen in Amsterdam!), or a comforting hot chocolate with a slice of cake – we’ve listed our favourite cosy places in Amsterdam.

Flowers & Powers

We love flowers, and we love coffee. Needless to say, we’re fans of Flowers and Powers. In the middle of the lively Da Costabuurt area is where you find this colourful cafe. Sip your macchiato while choosing a beautiful bouquet for someone you love – doesn’t it sound idyllic?

Back to Black

This trendy coffee cafe, with a retro home-décor, hardwood floors and cute green walls is located near Spiegelgracht. A great place for a coffee break before/after visiting the Rijksmuseum or some vintage and antique shopping on Nieuwe Spiegelstraat. If you have a (business) date or just want a different spot for working remotely, it’s a great choice too. It’s also conveniently close to the end of our Pijp Discovery Game.

Neighbourhood: Centre/De Pijp

Coffee and Coconuts

You’ll be going (coco)nuts if you don’t have the coffee and pancakes at this cosy Amsterdam cafe! Located in de Pijp, it’s a great spot for casual meetings or just catching up with yourself.

Neighbourhood: De Pijp

The Coffee Virus - A Lab

This cafe is a go-to option for art lovers, digital nomads and entrepreneurs seeking a spot to have coffee meeting. At the same time, it’s equally great for those who are particular about their coffee beans brew! It’s in Overhoeksplein in Amsterdam North (a free ferry takes you there), right next to the EYE Film Museum, so why not combine your coffee with a movie?

Neighbourhood: North

Rum BaBa

If you’re around Amsterdam East, head to the Pretoriusstraat for a cup of coffee and a tasty muffin at Rum BaBa. We love their decoration and the staff there is always smiling! If you want to find more cool places in Amsterdam East, like a brewery in a windmill and the city’s smallest museum, play our Amsterdam East treasure hunt.
